It is now the morning of surgery. I am antsy and ready for the next few hours to be over. I have spent the weekend excited and scared, but I know this is the right thing to be doing. It is times like this, I wish I were religious, since prayer seems like it would be comforting. But at this point if there is a divine being, a prayer from me might cause a divine arrhythmia, so I think we are better off leaving it well enough alone.
This weekend has reminded me of how profoundly luck I am to have such great and supportive friends, all around the world.
My friends pick me up in a few minutes and I look forward to seeing everyone after everything is said and done.
